On the 10th of April grandma and papa went shopping. I miss them when they are gone. But I went up to mom's room and sent some time on her bed. She has such a nice comfy bed. I did get a nice treat when grandma and papa got home. They bought French bread. Oh, how I love French bread!! Yum!! Unfortunately I had to share it with the rest of the family.
A few days later the Comcast guy had to come over. It wasn't the same one as last time. This one thought I was a wolf. He petted me and was very nice to me.
Later I was relaxing on the floor next to grandma as she was making dinner. She told me that mom would be home soon and to go see. So I went to the garage door to check but mom wasn't home yet. I think grandma was testing to see if I knew what she was saying and where to look for mom. She should know I'm smart enough to know all that.
On Friday the 16th we went for a walk again. A car passed by. The windows were closed but grandma could tell that the lady inside said "what a beautiful dog." 'nuff said. :)
That night my family was watching a movie with dogs in it. I thought there were real dogs in the house. I even ran upstairs to look for them but couldn't find them anywhere. I wonder where they went and how they got inside without me knowing.

Oatmeal Cookies and Forbidden Smoochies
On April 6th grandma and papa got up early. After breakfast and a walk, they went to the hardware store. That afternoon I went up to mom's room and took a 20 minute nap on her bed. She seemed to like that I did that.
The next day we had a visitor. Some guy came over to give grandma and papa an estimate for putting up a fence in the backyard. Then we went for a walk and met up with 3 little girls eating oatmeal cookies. Do you know what they did? They shared their cookies with me! Wasn't that nice of them? I love cookies!
On the morning of the 8th papa whistled for me to jump up on the bed. So I did. And do you know what I finally did? I gave papa a smoochie right on the cheek!!! I knew I'd get him sooner or later. Wahahahahaha!
I got to meet another new chihuahua neighbor on my walk. And grandma helped me write a thank you note to mom's friend, Linda, and her dog, Hula. They sent me some yummy dog biscuits.

Happy Easter!
On Easter morning I jumped up on my grandparents' bed. I tried to give papa a smoochie but he wouldn't let me. One of these days I'm gonna catch him!!
Uncle Ray, Aunt Colleen, and cousin Ryann came over for Easter dinner. Aunt Colleen gave me lots of scratches. No run this time. Maybe next time. Uncle Ray took lots of pictures for me. Maybe he'll share them with mom so I can put some up on my blog for you to see. I am very photogenic.
The next morning papa asked me if I wanted to go for a walk. I put my paw on his arm to make sure he knew the answer was Yes, Yes, Yes!!! That afternoon I found a cinnamon stick in the laundry room. It smelled good so I brought it to the dining room to munch on. But grandma found out what I was doing and took it away. Foiled again!

Pepper Spray and Bodyguards
Well, it's the 26th and it happened again! A German Shepherd tried to attack me. All I was doing was going for a walk. What is wrong with these dogs? Why can't they be civilized like me? At least this time it didn't get to me. Grandma and papa kept him away from me. I'm going to have to start carrying pepper spray on my walks.
The next day I hired a bodyguard. I pay her in smoochies and let her rub my belly. When we went for a walk, grandma brought a golf club with her to keep any mean dogs away from me. Thank you, grandma!
The next night papa tried to get me to go into my bed so he could cover me with my blanket. I didn't feel like getting into my bed until he left. Then I looked up at him to tell him he could cover me. Which he did. I am soooooo spoiled!!

Pumpkin Biscuits & Walks in the Park
March 19th was a big day for me. My family brought me to the park for a walk. It's a nice big park and has lots of good smells. We only saw one other dog from a distance. I got to cool my paws off in a little creek. I had so much fun. I hope we get to go there again soon.
The next day Sadie's mom said that my family should bring me over for a play date with Sadie in their back yard. It sounds like fun!
On the 23rd I met a Chihuahua named El Toro. He was soooo cute! And grandma made some homemade dog biscuits for me. She even personalized some of them with my name! Thank you, grandma. I love you!! By the way they are a pumpkin dog biscuit. They are yummy. Mom read about them on this blog that the pumpkin is good for doggy tummies. You can find the recipe there too. I strongly suggest all humans that read this should make these biscuits for their dogs.

The Dark Days of March
March 11th was a dark day for me. It started out okay. I saw a squirrel and tried to chase after it. But on the way back home from our walk a yellow lab named Molly attacked me! What did I ever do to her? Haven't I been nice to everyone?
Grandma checked me over to make sure I was okay but she missed the bite on my ear. Mom is the one that saw the dried blood inside my ear that night. And it was another day before they realized there was also a puncture on the outside of my ear. My ear is healed now but I don't think it was very nice of Molly to bite me. I've always been nice to her. I'm going to stay away from her from now on.
The next night mom's friends, Paula and Charlie, came over for dinner. They gave me lots of attention. They love me! And I don't think they would ever bite me!
And on the 13th Bailey came by to deliver more Girl Scout cookies. And to play with me. Did I mention that the kids just love me?

Wild Turkeys From Mars!
On March 4th mom went to a concert with Auntie Colleen and Auntie Paula (mom's VVBF... very very best friend). She never stays out that late especially on a work night. I cried for a little bit because I missed her. And I was a little restless the rest of the night. But she eventually came home.
The next day Amy came to deliver our Girl Scout cookies. She stayed to play with me for a few minutes. Amy just loves me. And we now have cookies!
A few days later when grandma took me outside, we saw these strange creatures. I didn't know what to think of them. They might have been creatures from outer space! Grandma must have had an encounter with them before because she called them wild turkeys. Do you think wild turkeys come from Mars? If so, does that mean grandma has been to Mars?

New Games and Anniversaries
It's the end of February already and grandma has started something new. She's hiding dog treats all over the house for me to find. It's so much fun! My nose get a good work out and my tummy gets a delicious treat.
On Sunday mom took Ryann home and let me ride in the car with them. I was even better behaved this time. What fun it is to ride in the car!
The next day papa and grandma vacuumed downstairs so I went upstairs to mom's bed. I made a nice little nest for myself up there and didn't go back downstairs until they finished cleaning. I've included a picture of my "nest" from that day. I hope they didn't expect me to help vacuum. I haven't been told I have any chores other than getting tummy rubs and ear massages.

Well, it's now March 2nd and that means it's my 6 month anniversary with my new family. We had a nice celebration. We had steak and champagne for dinner. Okay, I didn't get any champagne. I've been told I'm not old enough to drink. But I did get some steak and I even got dessert! A mini cupcake!! Don't worry... no chocolate. It was a white cupcake. I guess this means my humans are happy they adopted me. I'm certainly happy they did.

Puppy Dog Tails and Car Rides
On the 18th we got to see the puppy, Sadie, on our walk. She is getting big! And she is such a cute puppy. I danced around and wanted to play with her but I think she was a little afraid of me. I hope she gets used to me. I'd like to be friends.
Not much happened until the 27th. That's when mom went to pick up Ryann for another movie weekend. Mom asked if I wanted to go with her! Well, duh! I love car rides. Well, I think I do. I haven't taken many rides in the car.
So mom put me in the back seat and she drove. I didn't think she'd let me drive but you never know! I wasn't sure what to do. Mom opened the windows a little for me. I'm not sure why. I cried and howled a little and had trouble staying on my paws even though she went slowly around the turns. Then I tried to get into the front passenger seat. I tried 2 or 3 times before I was successful. Then I tried to get into the driver's seat and that's when mom said no. Fine! Don't let me drive. See if I care! I finally went back to the back seat.
We got to Ryann's house and she started doing something at the back of the car. Mom said Ryann was putting her stuff in the trunk. I have no idea what that means. Anyway, Ryann got in and we drove home. I was much better behaved on the way home since I had a better idea of what to expect. I kept my footing better on the turns and I think I figured out why mom opened the windows. It was so I could smell all the great things we passed. Mmmmmmm. Loved those smells.

Victory and Shark Bumps
Well, they haven't moved my bed out from under the stairs yet. I refuse to use it while it's under the stairs. I just don't like it there. Now they think they can put it by mom's chair and move it a little every day. Like I have no idea what they are doing! I am a patient dog and will wait them out.
On the 16th I saw a squirrel while we were on a walk. He was just sitting by a tree staring at me. More like taunting me, I think. Well, it didn't work. I have self-control. I looked at him then ignored him. I can be a very good dog... when I want to be.
That night the humans gave up. They put my bed back behind mom's chair. I knew I'd win this battle! Wahahahahaha!
I don't know if I've mentioned that I howl and cry while my humans are getting ready in the morning before we go for a walk. Well, now I've started something new. I now bump my nose on their legs. They call it a "shark bump." Whatever it takes to get them moving. Slow poke humans! What do they do that takes so long?

K-9, P.I. : The Tail of the Runaway Dog
We had company on February 2nd. Some guy from a place called Comcast came over. I liked him. He petted me quite a bit. And there was some excitement. Papa went outside to put some mail out and I snuck out with him. Off I went up the street with grandma starting to chase after me. Then she asked the Comcast guy to help and she gave him some dog biscuits to tempt me back. Well, I couldn't resist the biscuits and came back home. I wasn't trying to run away. I just wanted to do some solo investigation of the neighborhood.
The next day on our walk I saw 2 things that grandma said were chickens. They looked so yummy! I mean, I was fascinated by them. Strange little creatures. Tasty but strange.
Auntie Colleen came over on the 6th. I got lots of scratches and sweet talk from Auntie. She loves me! I think I'm her favorite doggie niece!
On the 13th grandma moved my bed to under the stairs. I didn't like it there. I like it closer to the kitchen and dining room. Grandma kept trying to tempt me into the bed by putting dog treats in it. But I outsmarted her... I went up to the bed, grabbed the treats, and ran back. I don't know why she wanted to move my bed. I really like it where it was. I refuse to use it until it's moved back to it's original spot.

Pawprints
My mom noticed some pawprints on her bedspread today and wrote a poem about it. I asked if I could put it on my blog and she said yes. I hope you enjoy it!
Pawprints On My Heart
Pawprints on my bed
Pawprints on the floor
Pawprints on my carpet
Pawprints by the door.
Pawprints at the end
Pawprints at the start
Pawprints on my clothes
Pawprints on my heart.

William Wallace?
On January 24th grandma and papa were watching tv and there were some howling noises coming from the tv. I went up to the tv but couldn't see any wolves. I even checked out the windows and didn't see any. I wonder where they were. I had to keep my ears and eyes open after that.
On our walk on the 26th grandma and I went up to see Randy. Coming down from there I pulled on the leash and grandma fell down. In the process she let my leash go.
Freeeeeeeeee-dom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ran down to a neighbor's house with grandma and papa coming after me. Grandma ran back to the house to get the car but by the time she came back with it, papa had caught me. Foiled again! Luckily though grandma was not hurt in the fall. Sorry grandma.
So I guess I've been a bit mischievous lately. On the 1st of February I noticed that grandma had a bag of French rolls on a cooler next to my dishes. Hmmmm. I love French bread in all its forms. :) So I did the only sensible thing... I grabbed the bag and took it to the living room to enjoy the rolls. Unfortunately grandma saw the entire episode and took them away from me. Darn it!

Hot Chocolate for Everyone... Except Dogs!
On January 19th grandma and I went for a quick run around the block. Then my family went out to do some shopping. While they were out, I went up to mom's room. I've discovered that if she leaves her drapes open, I can see the road from her bed so I know when they are coming home. Grandma has discovered that I do this because the bed is messed up.
Grandma made a mistake the next night. She made hot chocolate and put her cup on the coffee table. Then she turned to talk to papa and I snuck up from behind and started slurping her hot chocolate. Until she heard me... and took it away! Evidently I'm not supposed to have chocolate. Hmmph! The nerve.
Grandma has now started putting up chairs so I can't go upstairs when they are gone. Like that's going to stop a clever canine like me. I'll just jump in between the rails. And that's what I did! Foolish humans. Dogs are much too smart for them.

Dogs Don't Wear 3-D Glasses
It's January 8th and my humans are watching something called a movie. Papa has on some strange glasses. They called them 3-D glasses. I wasn't sure it was papa when I first saw him. Humans are the weirdest creatures on earth. You wouldn't catch a dog wearing 3-D glasses!
I had the last of the eggnog for the season. :( That's sad. I can't wait for the next season to start!
My human cousin, Ryann, came over on January 14th for a movie weekend with mom. Then Ry's parents came over to help papa do something and my Auntie Colleen asked if I wanted to go for a run. Do I?!? Of course I do!!! I love going for runs with my Auntie. She seems to be the only one that can keep up with me.
On the 16th Dash and his dad came to visit me. I love Dash. I know you know that already but I just can't stop saying it. I was very well behaved this time.
Then Amy came by to sell Girl Scout cookies. Yum! I gave her lots of smoochies and mom ordered some cookies. When do we get them?
